Since I kind of play by my own rules:
01. It’s Tuesday! Which means tomorrow is field trip day. L.A. here I come! Considering it is about 25 degrees cooler down there, I should be happy. Sadly the Cottage is not open. Although I may call and see if someone is going to be in the workshop.
02. I need to register for fall classes… and I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. Well, besides a cougar and a flock tender. (still having a contest… go enter… NOW)
03. I still haven’t gotten on the bike. I made sure I could handle the mechanics, now I just need to get the go ahead from the floppy doc tomorrow. Besides the fear of falling off and whapping the floppy, I think I’ll be ok. The steering shouldn’t be hard on the arm. And it’s not like I’m going to bike a hundred miles.
04. I’m going to try my first beer butt chicken today. My favorite part of it may be drinking the half can before sticking up there. Of course I may have to try several times on several cans… so I get exactly half a can. I do what I can to follow the recipe.
05. Speaking of recipes? I was bored and made white chocolate raspberry muffins yesterday. I gave most away. They were good, just not good for the diet.
06. I’m about ready to make some blueberry pancakes for breakfast. YUM!
07. I’m having a fruit fetish this week.
09. Since Angie isn’t sharing her new haircut, I had to take matters into my own hands and find a picture:
10. What part of “you can’t set off fireworks before 1200 p.m. on July 4th” don’t these idiots get? And speaking of ignoring laws, how about the noise ordinances? You know, you’re allowed to be as loud as you want between 7 am and 11 pm. I think fireworks at 1 am kind of breaks both rules. Just sayin’. (we’re not even touching the idiocy of setting off fireworks at all and a very dry year)

If they are bothering you, you can call it in at any time. It’s called “disturbing the peace”. Ask any cop working third shift and trying to sleep during the day. They’ll tell you.
Angie got hair cut? I hope it wasn’t given by White Dot. o.0

Our senior dog, Bear, has always been afraid of thunder and fireworks and gunshots (we live in the woods in n.w. Wisconsin), so the Fourth was always torture for her. We may be in the woods, but we are also on a lake, and when city people come to their cabin on the lake, they like to set off fireworks. In the past year she has become largely deaf, which for her is a bit of a blessing. She can still sense thunderstorms, but fireworks no longer bother her, bless her doggy heart.

Hey! Guess What’s for Dinner Wednesday? Yup – I even have photos of my chicken butt, before and after! Are you going to post yours? Maybe we can have a contest!
I’m with Cookie. Call the cops.

We’ve already been dealing with assholes and fireworks already. I am so not amused.
I hope you get the go ahead for your bike. Where are you going to ride to on your first ride out?

I wish they’d ban fireworks once and for all. Did they see our skies last week? Scary.
Yum, blueberry pancakes. I think that’s going to be dinner.

No flock yet or ever but you are always welcome here. Even if we have humidity and snow and cold weather. You better be showing up in September!
The food all sounds very delicious. Raspberry and chocolate are one of my favorite combinations.
Ack. You know how hard it is to get a decent photo of yourself?!? I don’t think I’ll put White Dot and thinning scissors in the same room.

Yesterday was Canada Day so the fireworks have started and will continue every evening until Sunday. And of course my neighbors all have their own private stock.
Here’s a job for you – Island Patrol – you can hang out here in the summer as my own personal Police Chief and return to California at the first hint of winter.
