Once upon a time

There was this awesome, hard and crunchy on the outside but war and chewy on the inside, Cookie.

She knit me a hat (well, two but I’ll let her share the other one)

It’s modeled here with the big, blue shawl of comfort that goes on all my medical journeys. I figured that I’ve shared the neck catheter every other year, so I won’t do it this year.

The hats arrived the same day I had to head up to Dallas. They are perfect! I have hospital hair (even though they have these shower cap shampoo things that are supposed to “wash” your hair) and they are the perfect cover up. I think one of the nurses wants to steal my sock head.

I can see well enough to knit. Well, if I close one eye or don’t look at what I’m doing. Needless to say, it is a slow go.

I’m off to do some more laps and knit a stitch or two. What are you doing today?

  1. Cookie Said,

I am so glad they arrived in time.

That’s a Sockhead hat made from Trekking XXL that I bought four years ago when our President was elected the first time. Saw it in the stash and could not believe I’d had it so long. Btw, this is also the hat I was truly tempted to keep. Good thing I have another skein of that exactly yarn. ;^)

  2. Cheryl S. Said,

    Perfect hat!

  3. Kitten Said,

Fabulous. Did SSCLD tuck that shawl over your mouth?

  4. kmkat Said,

As I commented to Cookie, WHAT? SQUISHY IS A BLONDE?

    Ahem.

Great hat. Great shawl. Hang in there.

  5. Sarah Said,

I’m glad that you are covered in such love! I’m thinking all the good things for you and yours. xoxo
