Short and to the point. Or not.

Because Cookie said I should and I always listen to Cookie.

02.  Now that Texas is home, I’m doing the traveling.

Totally not right.

I’ll be catching her in/around D.C.I hope.

And it’s not the wicked witch.

I have found worse.

10.  Sometimes, banging your head against a wall repeatedly does make it all feel better.

Water heater tomorrow?  Maybe.

And maybe some  holes drilled in the walls to help dry them out… since days of that and 7 industrial fans haven’t worked

Happy Monday… I think.  At least I found a present I got last week.  Now to sit back with a cuppa and open it.  oh… and the cast comes off Wednesday

I can’t brain today, I have the dumb

And the sick and the sad and the squish.

As for my plans to clean today?  Eh.  Unless I can convince the dogs to vacuum and dust, I actually don’t think I’ll do it.  I took a shower and that seems to have used up almost all of my energy at the moment.

Knitting and that FO that I didn’t FO yesterday perhaps?

happy puppy

I have rants about pretend Christians and one about people who attack someone’s beliefs just because they don’t’ share them.  Oh and people who want something and enjoy the good side of it, but don’t want to hear about the parts that make them uncomfortable. And why don’t I ever get a word of healing from the 700 club?*

Maybe  keeping these in are why my eye is throbbing.

no words

Yeah, this really is a purse for sale.  Iz scared.

Happy Tuesday y’all!

*last one was a joke. I just happened to be flipping through when they were doing the healing prayer thingy.

They called me Walkie Talkie*

I’ve been home from the hospital for a week now and am still exhausted and recuperating. I was sure I’d be feeling more normal by now. (Normal for me… shut up)

Dallas skyline at sunrise

All in all, the treatments were successful and I can see again out of my right eye. Although apparently there was some damage to the depth perception area – they say I didn’t notice it because I couldn’t see well enough out of the eye. The PLEX, since it cleans out all the bad antibodies that were built up, will continue to provide benefits. It gives your body time to heal itself until the crap builds back up. (I’m on a medication in the meantime to stop the antibodies from doing that – so it’s a two prong attack) Hopefully, the whole depth perception thing will clear up.

I’m doing a lot of sleeping and not much else… so I got nothin’ to show you.  I swear as soon as I get some gumption, I’ll start returning email and maybe even start commenting on blogs again.

zale

Zale as in Zale Diamonds

Yeah, it used to be a private hospital.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of all the names that made the hospital.  It’s like a who’s-who of the Dallas rich.  (think JC Penny and several gasoline companies) It is the best hospital money (or really good insurance) can buy in Dallas.  I was very fortunate indeed.

zale lipshy 071

They even had valet parking.

As you can see, I spent as little time in my room as possible.  Hence the nickname Walkie Talkie – which was given to me by the night shift nurses.  I’m really not one to just sit around.  Not even knitting could keep me placated for long.

Happy Monday y’all!

Angie Day 6

Subtitle: I haz sad

Sub-subtitle: does it count as Day 6 if it’s not a whole day?

Sub-sub-subtitle: How long do you think I can drag this trip out in blog posts.

Wow.  Just wow.  I still don’t think I can summarize the week yet. Of course that could be the severe lack of sleep, late nights, walking for 6 hours carrying 50 pounds of wool festival booty, or the really good food.  (I’m trying to figure if it would be uncouth to invite Angie and Dan down and have Dan cook all the meals.)

I’m amazed at how few pictures I took. (although I didn’t download all I could of them off of my crackberry yet)  I am however not amazed at the lack of knitting.  There was way too much fun to be had.

artsy fartsy bee

Including Cookie’s “shawl of doom” ™ that she knit for me.  You’ll have to ask her about the detail-details. I know it’s The Honeybee Stole and the yarn was some type of jaggerspun super-tiny lace stuff.

Angie honeybee

I couldn’t knit it and she was nice enough to do it for me. Although I don’t know if she is talking to me yet.  O.o  The thing is huge.  HUGE.  It took up most of my guest room in the blocking. We’re guestimating it at least 10 feet.  (I had to get creative and unbend hangers and used over 150 t pins and a bunch of the yellow balled quilt pins to boot.)  If I get more blocking wires, it could go longer.

how big

Don’t those Wisconsinites look happy?  Ya, yabetchya!

My plane should be here shortly and I’m excited to return home and be reuinited with my new stash.

Happy Monday y’all!

Random Holiday Monday Schtuff

Fun quote I read this morning:

Be the fruit loop in a world full of cheerios

Only 2 more days!  WOOOT!

I haz big brown thing on my massage table but y’all don’t get to see it until after it’s photo shoot in WI.

Maybe I should get it it’s own name tag:  Knit by the Kind and Wonderful Cookie.  AKA The Stoopid Shawl.

I saw this yesterday and thought of Angie:

phone 029

I was going to do this week’s UM’s but I didn’t want to go there this early in the week.

I sent Texas back on the road yesterday.  I haz sad.

I also still have a list of things that needed to be done.

I may have corrupted him a tiny bit this trip home.   Mr. Self Sufficient himself – was forced into experiencing the joys of hiring someone to do “crap that needs to be done, but there’s never enough time when you’re only home one week a month”

And then, I found this for Cookie:

hehehhe

I’m going to sit back with Grey’s and start at season 1 so I can catch up.  Skinny Porkchop has them all and I’ve got nothin’ better to do.  Well, I could watch Saving Grace or Dexter, but Texas hasn’t seen them yet and we’re kind of watching them together.

I hope Angie has HBO because the season finale of TrueBlood is on NEXT Sunday.  /sigh

I’ve washed and blocked almost all of my shawls.  I know I’m taking the Stoopid Shawl and the Knit with Nora Forest Canopy (so it can meet the person who made it happen).  I think I’m going to take my favorite one ( I think that’s the right link) and possibly my SUKYCC flower basket. But I’m not sure.   It’s a debate because I love my blue shawl of comfort so much and I don’t want to leave home without it.  But I am trying to fly with only carry on luggage.  I guess I could pack less clothing.  O.o

Just because I can:

I’d take a picture right now, but it is 0′dark 30.  This is from earlier in the week.  Believe me, if I had something sunnier and maybe with angels singing hallelujah in the background, it’d be here.

I’ve been traumatized

Subtitle: Yet another reason we love Texas.

Last night I was debating if I should go to the gym today and he said I shouldn’t and that I should get some rest because I’ve been traumatized this week.

I think he just wants me rested for when he gets home.

O.o

♥  ♥  ♥

I was forced by lack of electricity this morning to spin and weave to entertain myself.  I even had to stand in the rain to boil water for coffee.  Instant coffee.

I know.  Yet another trauma.

Texas now has another thing on his to do list.  Fix my inkle loom.  Don’t ask.

I’ve also decided I’m buying furniture for by the fireplace since that is the only room in the house that gets any decent light when there is no power.

And maybe a big surprise for the house.  But he can’t know yet.

My note from the Universe today:

I don’t think you get it, Solimar…
We celebrate your courage every single day.
To the conga line… “Hey!”
