01. Mindless knitting is always a good thing.  Ulmus is just easy enough to watch tv, but still charty enough to be interesting. Yes, charty is a word.

02. Hey look!   Dave yarn.  Slowly being hand wound.

03. Insurance – have answers, but uncertainty on costs is still looming over my head.

04. I get to visit Dr. House and the lovely and talented Mz. MoMo (I had to stop calling her a sex kitten – she’s so kind and sweet and knowledgeable) this week and am looking forward to getting away for a day.

Because….

05. I haz sad.  This on the road crap?  You never get used to it.  While I enjoy being able to put the house back in order, I miss the boy noises.

06. And smells.  While the smelly cologne shirt can be a comfort?  Sometimes the slight whiff of it as you’re making the bed or walking through a room can catch you off guard.

07. We moved furniture when he was home (by we, I mean me telling him where to put it) and I think I mostly like the arrangement.  Except for the heater vent under my desk chair.  O.o

08.  Love! the  dining room now being by the fire place.  Now for a new table.

09.The boy bought a waffle maker while he was home too.  I think I love fresh waffles more than anything right now.  YUM!  Right now, I’m crushing on (home flavored) vanilla yogurt and blueberries as a topping. ZOMG!

10. An FO?  I haz  one!

I am appalled and saddened by this crap at Ft. Hood.  I don’t care which way you fall on the whole war thing, but this is just fucked up

1. Plans and schedules never seem to work out exactly as you planned them .

2. I’m happy when things are under my complete control… oh and clean.

3. The last thing I drank was coffee (hello?!?! it’s before noon).

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to Texas 026, tomorrow my plans include Texas 027 and Sunday, I want to Texas 028!

Texas is in L.A., the doctor’s are trying to kill me and seriously, I feel like I might be on a roll.  Besides, the boy wouldn’t know what to do with all the half done projects if I did die*.

That damn Norma did it to me.  She posted those Tom Jones videos and got me thinking about my old crush Neil Diamond. I mean, how can you not love Sweet Caroline and Heartlight?

I completed the blue shrimp sock on Friday and turned the heel on the other yesterday.

Since I’m rather cantankerous today, if you want the details, you can go to my Rav page.  I don’t need to post them over and over again do I?  I don’t even like showing WIP pictures.  “Oooh look! The sock is an inch longer”  BLECH!

Today?  I’m gonna be busy.  I’m meeting someone I met yesterday for coffee this morning.  Hopefully she’s a normal person… not one of the East Texan’s who ask you what church you belong to before they ask you your name.  I have high hopes since she’s meeting me during normal church hours.

Plus I have to try to watch the Nascar race to see if I can see Texas’ mom.

WIP Wednesday

I had no knitting time yesterday because I went to the land and played on the tractor.  There is something so wonderful and mindless and just perfect about doing that.

O.k. fine, I could have knit when I got home, but I thought email was a better use of my time.

Yeah, I don’t get it either.

Since it is WIP Wednesday -  and I did say I was going to work on schtuff – I dug all of them out and put them where they can mock me.  Without further ado, here they are.  (I know, knitting, here… don’t faint)

Progress on a Sunday?

As someone I love dearly said…

Who are you and where’s that pink hair wearin’ nightclub crawling tattooed city girl we used to know?

Between fishing, cleaning and getting the love shack set up, there has been some fiber progress made.

Icarus increased by two rows, the freezing farmgirl fisher mitts have had a couple of rounds added and I’ve worked on a long forgotten cross stitch project.  They’ve decided to do some “strength training” on ye ole floppy, so everything has been kind of slow going.

Even the play room is in disarray.  Serious disarray.  (I had to take that picture again since someone’s birthday presents were showing in the first couple I took.)  The wall behind me is going to be all shelving and I’m looking for a comfy, cozy chair to curl up in.  I’m thinking this since I plan to have two big leather chairs and ottomans by the fireplace.

I woke up all excited because I thought it was physical therapy day.

Yes, I said it.

What? O.o

I would do a knitting update, but the weather has been too crappy for pictures… oh, and you have to knit and have some progress to do an update.  The rain also doesn’t allow for any really cool outside pictures.  Unless you want to see what happens when a pond overflows.  Which really isn’t that interesting.

Oh well, you can’t win them all.

Is that a nose in my ass or are you just happy to see me?

In the spirit of thinking it was Thursday, I’m doing a mini-Love Thursday*:

01. I love that picture.

02. I love cooking.  Last night was meatloaf, roasted potatoes and Cookie’s Apple Crisp.  I think there may be a bite of the apple crisp left.

03.  Which brings me to that I love cooking for those who appreciate it.

04.  I LOVED Kung Foo Panda.  Yeah.  Who knew.  But it was cute and fun and an easy watch while doing all that cooking yesterday.

05. Even though it was kind of rainy and dreary yesterday (and maybe today), it was nice to have that “curl up in a comfy sweatshirt and jammies and just veg” thing. Well, without the just veg part.  Because I have a hard time sitting still. (see 2)  How do y’all do it?

06. I love that I have another rainy day to try again.

07.  I love that I now have a Texas inspection sticker on my car.  And as soon as I decide on an insurance, I’ll have a registration sticker. ( I do not however love that my insurance went from $300/ six months to over $750)

08. I forget what eight was for.
